Additional Needs Car Seat Guide
Finding the right car seat for a child with additional needs can feel overwhelming. With over 40 years' experience in child car seat safety, our specialist team helps families, local authorities, charities and healthcare professionals find safe, practical travel solutions for children with physical, medical and behavioural needs. Everything we offer is brought together on this page.
Support, restraint, or both?
Most additional needs travel products do one of two jobs, and many children need a combination of both.
Postural support
For children who need extra trunk, head or pelvic support to sit safely and comfortably, for example because of cerebral palsy, low muscle tone or scoliosis. These are specialist seats that can be adjusted to the child.
Safety restraint
For children who unbuckle themselves, climb out of their seat or reach for the harness while the car is moving, for example some children with autism, ADHD or behavioural needs.
Shop by condition
Select a condition to see the products our team most often recommends for it. Every child is different, so we always recommend an assessment before you buy.
